National Reports
Each Party is required, in accordance with
Article 33 of the Protocol, to monitor the implementation of its obligations under the Protocol and to report to the Conference of the Parties serving as the meeting of the Parties to the Protocol (COP-MOP) on measures taken to implement the Protocol. Paragraph 5 of Decision BS-I/9 requests Parties to submit their National Reports every 4 years and also to submit an interim report two years after the entry into force of the Protocol. The reports will be considered by the Parties at the meetings of the COP-MOP and therefore they should be submitted 12 months in advance of the meetings. Decision BS-I/9 also requests that the reports be submitted (in both hard copy and electronic format) in one of the official languages of the United Nations.
First Reports (2007): In its
Decision BS-III/14, the COP-MOP approved a format for the first regular national report on implementation of the Protocol which is set out in its Annex. The deadline for submission of the first regular national reports was 11 September 2007.
The format for the first regular national report is available in
